Brief Job Description
To provide accredited training in construction to a variety of groups from 14 years old and upwards. You may also be required to complete construction contracts off site when necessary.
Major Objectives To provide work based training to a range of learners working towards a Vocational qualification, to prepare the learner for progression into either further training or employment. To ensure the effective day to day training to a wide range of learners, this includes preparation for each session as necessary To ensure a safe and friendly environment for learners To promote and be proactive in the implementation of strides equal opportunity policy, health and safety regulations and environmental policy
Duties organise training workshops for practical activities, which will include lesson plans and preparation of course material, which will encourage learner participation Carrying out initial assessments with a learner to be able to assess suitability for the course Writing & Implementing individual training plans ensuring learners are working towards and completing units in order for them to gain the qualification in bricklaying Assessing units as specified by awarding bodies Internally verifying students work, liaising with the examination board’s external verifier and training manager to ensure the standards specified for the delivery of above qualification are met at all times, to assist with the development and/or implement new training schemes as required Complete daily registers, reporting absenteeism as necessary Order and maintain stock levels of tools and materials required for the delivery of the training programmes Taking responsibility for health and safety in the workshop and off site activities including the general housekeeping of working areas and risk assessments carried out when required To carry out contracts both on and off site as instructed to a high standard with the assistance of trainee labour construction workers Supervise learners at all times ensuring students enjoy a friendly, safe, working environment, taking care to report any necessary risks or problems a learner may be experiencing To carry out any other reasonable task as requested by management to ensure to smooth running of the organisation

Directors, other heads of department, staff with cross departmental responsibilities, finance, IT and quality, referral agencies, parents and employers
2. Duties and Responsibilities
All duties shown below may be applied in any situation in the training centre, in the workplace or partner working
1. To provide training and assessment for a range of participants working towards a Vocational qualification, to prepare the participant for progression into either further training or employment
2. To monitor and support participant progress to ensure completion within agreed timescales appropriate for level and individual needs
3. To organise and undertake assessment planning with learners; assist learners in the appropriate completion of site diaries/evidence portfolios and any other relevant documentation which enhances achievement or the training provision
4. To ensure your workshop is organised ready for practical activities, ensuring learners are supervised at all times within a friendly, safe, working environment, taking responsibility to respond to any reports or signs of problems a learner may be experiencing that may be effecting their positive progression
5. To ensure an initial assessment is completed with a learner to be able to assess suitability for the course and to liaise with other supervisors ensuring learners are set and working towards targets to show their progression within areas
6. Assisting the department head to write & Implement lesson plans and individual training plans ensuring learners are working towards and completing units in order for them to gain qualifications
7. Liaising and working with Stride Quality Assurance Co-ordinator, examination board external verifier, and training manager to ensure the standards specified for the delivery of above qualification are met at all times, to assist with the development and/or implement new training schemes as required
8. Undertake reviews and target setting with learners, informing relevant parties of progress
9. Assist staff and other learners with assessor awards, and other training units as appropriate. Share best practice
10. Be responsible for tracking and reporting progress of learners on a regular basis/as required. Be responsible for reporting any concerns with progress. Ensure learners complete training before end date/agreed timescale
11. Provide feedback on students work and assignments
12. Assist with and undertake employer questionnaires or surveys and feedback to improve the quality of training as appropriate
13. Work with employers to identify and develop training opportunities, promoting the work of the provider as appropriate and assisting with recruitment activities for Stride
14. Undertake a minimum of 30 hours CPD per annum and achieve relevant new teaching qualifications
15. Maintain awareness of industry developments and update skills through staff development etc
16. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, to ensure a safe and friendly environment for participants, staff, visitors and customers
17. Ensure compliance with Strides equal opportunity policy including compliance with statutory regulations with regard to employment legislation
18. To provide the best possible service to all customers (both internal and external) in line with Strides standards
19. Be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of your students having due regard to Strides Child and Vulnerable Adults Policy
20. To carry out any other reasonable task as requested by management to ensure to smooth running of the organisation
